October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During Tuesday’s General Session meeting, Franklin County Commissioners showed their support for the residents in Franklin County who are affected by breast cancer by wearing pink.

The Franklin County Commissioners, Treasurer and Prosecutor have come together to find a way to fund housing counseling programs that were previously included in federal HUD budget allocations, but were left out this year and aren’t included in next year’s proposed budget.

Clinton, Hamilton, Mifflin and Prairie Townships were recognized at the Franklin County Commissioners’ General Session on October 18 for their participation in the Franklin County Commissioners’ Rain Garden Challenge 2011.

Affirming their commitment to the core principles of job creation, strategic economic development and fiscal security for Franklin County families and businesses, Tuesday morning Franklin County Commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution in support of the passage of the American Jobs Act as proposed by President Obama and included as part of the President’s long-term deficit reduction plan.

During Tuesday’s General Session meeting, Franklin County Commissioners were presented with the 2011 Growing to Green Award for Community Garden of the Year.
