Licensing your dog by Jan. 31 protects its safety - and is required by law

Today, following several weeks of budget hearings, which began in November, Franklin County Commissioners approved the County’s 2014 Annual Operating Budget.

Dating as far back as the late 1800’s, there has been a desire to create a memorial building to honor the soldiers of our County. 

Today, Franklin County Administrator Don L. Brown will kick off the County’s 2014 Budget Hearings with a presentation of the entire 2014 Recommended Budget to the County Commissioners at 1 pm in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room (373 S. High Street) on the 26th Floor.

In celebration of America Recycles Day, Commissioners have rolled-out a partnership this week with Eartha Limited and AVI Foodsystems to add the recycling of organic materials in the Ben Franklin Café, located on the 16th Floor of the Government Tower (373 S. High Street), to the county’s collection of green initiatives.

This morning, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a new policy resolution which strengthens and solidifies the County’s commitment to supporting the local food system citing important economic and environmental benefits

Last night at the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Meeting, the Franklin County Green Team was presented with the 2013 Conservation Stewardship Award.

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted this morning to approve recommendations from a panel of publically appointed citizen representatives charged with an annual review of Franklin County’s tax incentive portfolio.
