The Franklin County Commissioners today voted to approve two new initiatives aimed at delivering assistance to small businesses and their employees who are suffering under the current public health restrictions.  Both efforts are to be delivered by the commissioners’ Economic Development and Planning Department using existing partners

Today, the governor and the director of the Ohio Department of Health have ordered Ohioans to stay at home for all but essential business.

Franklin County Commissioner John O’Grady was elected this morning by a unanimous vote of the three-member Board of Commissioners to serve as president for 2020.  Commissioner O’Grady was first elected to the board in 2008.  He previously served as president in 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2017, so this is his third term of office and his fifth stint as board president.
 

At its last General Session meeting of 2019, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners passed a balanced, forward-looking budget for county government in 2020.
