Commissioners Kick-Off Summer Success Program for Youth and Young Adults

The Franklin County Commissioners have kicked off the beginning of their yearly Summer Youth Success Program for Franklin County young people aged 5-24.  The program represents a nearly $13 million investment in summer camps and job training and workforce experiences for almost 5,000 low-income youth in our community.  Children 5 to 13 years-old can attend free summer day camps, and young people 14 to 24 years-old will participate in workforce readiness and work placement programs.

Commissioners Thank Voters for Continued Support of Senior Options Levy

The Board of Commissioners would like to thank the voters of Franklin County for once again showing overwhelming support for the Senior Options levy. Since 1993, Senior Options has helped residents age 60 and over maintain their independence by providing services that include medical transportation, homedelivered meals, homemaker services, personal care services, caregiver relief/respite care, adult day service, emergency response systems and minor home repair.

Commissioner O'Grady Makes Friendly Wager on NHL Playoffs with Allegheny County, PA

Franklin County Board of Commissioners President John O’Grady and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald have engaged in a friendly wager on the outcome of First Round series of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. As the Columbus Blue Jackets face the Pittsburgh Penguins, residents of Franklin County, OH and Allegheny County, PA will make donations for their local food banks.
