The Franklin County Commissioners are once again working with Goodwill Columbus, the Columbus Clippers, WBNS-10TV, Sunny 95, and The Columbus Dispatch to help consumers responsibly recycle unwanted electronic waste.

Today, Franklin County Commissioners were joined by the Capital Area Humane Society, Franklin County staff, central Ohio area animal rescue groups, volunteers, community partners and the animal welfare community as they introduced Kaye L. Dickson as the new Director for Franklin County’s Dog Shelter & Adoption Center.

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners today passed a resolution awarding a $150,000 grant to provide training for 550 new, full-time employees at Columbus Castings.

Franklin County Commissioner Marilyn Brown spoke today at a meeting of 25 Whitehall Yearling seniors who are participating in the Stepping Off To College program sponsored by the county commissioners.

This morning, at their regularly scheduled General Session meeting, the Franklin County Commissioners were joined by Ryan Cassell, Director of Development for Community Housing Network (CHN), to discuss Franklin County’s on-going need for affordable, supportive housing for residents and families.

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners will vote tomorrow on a resolution awarding a $50,000 grant to provide training for 116 new employees at local business, CoverMyMeds. 

Last week, the Franklin County Department of Economic Development and Planning unveiled a new feature of its website aimed at speeding up and making permitting as easy as possible for builders, developers, and residents.

Today, Franklin County Commissioners announced their plans to promote Kenneth N. Wilson (43123), 46, to County Administrator.

Franklin County is asking residents to take part in the 2015-2019 Consolidated Planning process.
