COMMISSIONERS APPROVE NEARLY $1.7 MILLION IN GRANTS TO IMPROVE EQUITY IN HEALTHCARE

The Franklin County Commissioners announced grants this morning totaling $1,683,000 to community partner organizations for the purpose of promoting equity in healthcare for Franklin County residents.  The nine grant recipients and their initiatives were chosen because of their focus on reducing disparities in health outcomes primarily for populations that have been historically underserved by high-quality healthcare and health services.

COMMISSIONER BOYCE ELECTED BOARD PRESIDENT FOR 2024

At their first meeting of the year yesterday, the Franklin County commissioners selected Commissioner Kevin L. Boyce to serve as board president for 2024.  Commissioner Boyce was first elected to the board in 2016, and has previously served as president of the board in 2018 and 2021.  Before being elected to county office, he served in the Ohio Legislature, as state treasurer, and on Columbus City Council, and he is also a cofounder of Ohio’s only Black-owned bank.
