Today, we honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., who preached the power of non-violence to effect social change and showed us the true power we have when we work together. Great progress has been made in the decades since Dr. King was killed, but some of that progress is in danger of being lost. Now more than ever, it is important that all Americans continue to strive to judge others on the content of their character rather than the color of their skin or their nation of origin. These are values we hold dear in Franklin County, and we will continue to try to honor Dr. King and his work by fighting for the rights of all of our Franklin County residents.
