August is Child Support Awareness Month and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) want to remind parents that making regular and timely support payments contributes to the wellbeing of their children and helps to ensure that their basic needs are being met. To anyone that is behind or struggling to make their child support payments, Franklin County wants to work with you to help you support your children.
Franklin County has partnered with Columbus State, and dozens of other community partners and employers to host the
2017 Franklin County Empowerment Day Resource & Job Fair on Thursday, August 10 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Columbus State Conference Center, 315 Cleveland Avenue. The event is free and open to the entire community.
“Events like Empowerment Day are great ways to access community resources, address barriers that may be keeping you from seeing your kids, and/or getting a job to support them,” said Board of Commissioners President John O’Grady. “Thanks to our CSEA team for putting together another great event, and to all of our community partners and employers for their participation.”
At Empowerment Day, parents will receive: child support assistance, legal guidance, resources for military veterans and families, a job fair and more. All attendees are encouraged to bring their résumé and to dress as if they’re attending a job interview as they will have the opportunity to meet with area employers that are currently hiring. Visit
