Franklin County’s Department of Sanitary Engineering is on the scene of a water main break on West Broad Street west of I-270 near Doctors West Hospital. The right-hand, eastbound lane of West Broad Street between Norton and Inah Avenues is closed, though traffic may be slowed in both directions. Crews are working to repair the break as quickly as possible and hope to be able to reopen the closed lane before evening rush hour. An update will be issued later today and, if possible, commuters are advised to take an alternate route until work is completed.
No residences are affected, but a few local businesses are without water for the time being. Doctors West Hospital is unaffected, and no boil alert is expected.
