Franklin County’s Department of Sanitary Engineering is on the scene of a water main break on West Broad Street west of I-270 near Doctors West Hospital. Crews are working to repair the 10-inch main as quickly as possible, however, traffic is expected to be disrupted through the evening rush hour. One eastbound lane between Norton Road and Inah Avenue is closed, though traffic may be slow in both directions. If possible, commuters are advised to take an alternate route this evening and tomorrow morning.
While the homes and businesses in the immediate area that are tied to this line may be experiencing a drop in pressure, no boil alert is expected. Doctors West Hospital is unaffected.
