Recognizing the many benefits of community gardens, the city of Columbus and Franklin County announced recipients of their joint community garden grants program. $53,200 in funding was allocated to 42 local community gardens this year.

Commissioners Awarded For Their Support of Reserve and National Guard Employees

The Franklin County Commissioners were awarded the ESGR Pro Patria Award on Saturday. The ESGR (Employer Support of Guard and Reserve) is a Defense Department office with committees in each state that works to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service Members and their civilian employers.

Commissioners Oppose Proposed Changes to Tax-Exempt Status of Municipal Bonds

Franklin County is now the fastest growing county in Ohio. Tomorrow, citing concerns over the potential for additional pressure on the County’s already-constrained budget, Franklin County Commissioners are expected to approve a resolution supporting the efforts of the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) to oppose proposed Federal changes to the tax-exempt status of Municipal Bonds.
