On Sunday, July 1, Franklin County Commissioners held a special Emergency Meeting to vote on a declaration of emergency - making the county eligible for any potential state and federal assistance - following a destructive storm and severe power outages on June 29.
At the Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security center, Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks is updated on areas of the county where residents are still without electricity after the June 29th severe weather and power outage event.
County Commissioner Paula Brooks and Sheriff Zach Scott are briefed by the team at Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security on the significant number of homes and businesses severely impacted by prolonged power outages and continued high temperatures.
During the July 3rd General Session, Franklin County Commissioners receive the latest information on efforts to restore electricity and support residents and businesses impacted by the June 29th severe weather and power outage event.
